Settlement

If you have lived in the UK for a certain amount of time you may be eligible to apply for settlement. Settlement is also known as Indefinite Leave to Remain.

Whether or not you can apply for settlement will be depend on the type of visa you are currently on and how long you have been residing in the UK. For example, if you are currently on a spouse visa you will be able to apply for settlement after two years. This is of course if you satisfy all the requirements for settlement such as:

• Passing the life in the UK test

• Demonstrating that you have the minimum level of English
